WHO I AM

My name is Gary Fodor, and I’m a Hungarian graphic designer based in the UK since 2017. My love for creating layouts and designs in Canva over three years ago sparked a passion that changed my life. It inspired me to quit my job and dive fully into learning design, starting with coaching sessions and countless hours of homework under the guidance of my first mentor, Hella.

Later, I joined the Futur Accelerator group, where incredible mentors like Ben Burns and Stephanie Owens helped refine my skills and uncover my unique spark in design. I also found an inspiring and supportive community of creatives who believed in my vision.

One pivotal moment came when Massimo Zefferino from The Angry Designer Podcast purchased my very first print—even before I’d officially thought of opening a shop! That support gave me the confidence to take this dream seriously.

BRINGING INSPIRATION

I create designs with a human touch—unique, mixed-media pieces brimming with creativity, craftsmanship, and care. My aim is to offer something truly special for fellow designers and creatives, perfect for their studios or home offices. I want my artwork to inspire and invigorate their workspace, bringing a personal, meaningful touch to their walls.

WHAT SETS MY SHOP APART

My shop stands out because I’m deeply committed to quality and attention to detail. If you ever receive a damaged or misprinted order, I’ll replace it at no extra cost—because I want every customer to be fully happy with their purchase.

My style is heavily influenced by urban art and street, grunge aesthetics. I use a mix of torn paper, marker pen, digital graffiti illustrations, and mixed-media techniques.

I often print out designs, then add elements using glue or masking tape and textures before scanning them back in. This process makes each design experimental, unique, and vibrant.

Typography is another passion of mine, especially bold, urban fonts. I love to experiment with how text interacts with the rest of my designs, making it a key feature in many of my pieces.

HOW I CREATE MY DESIGNS

I start by generating ideas using Chat GPT—always aiming for something unique, meaningful, inspiring, or even just a little funny. Once I have a concept, I search for the perfect typography, illustrations, and elements, and then play around with the layout and grid systems in Figma.

Once I have the digital base of the design, I print it out and start adding mixed-media elements—this can vary depending on the vibe I want to achieve. From there, I get hands-on with techniques like gluing and layering materials to bring my vision to life.

When everything looks just right, I scan it back in and use Photoshop to refine the colours and textures, ensuring every piece is polished and ready for print.

WHERE MY PRODUCTS ARE MADE

I work with Inkthreadable in the UK, a company that shares my commitment to eco-friendly values. They use sustainable practices in their production, ensuring that every item I create is made with the planet in mind. It’s important to me that my designs aren’t only special but also created with responsibility and care for the environment.
